Sandwich Boy Hot Sauce

Deep down, we all are sandwich boys. AKA the boys who need huge sandwiches with even better sauces. And this, is that sauce. It's a roasted red pepper habanero hot sauce that will have you feeling the heat, but not too much of it.

Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • 1/2 large sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 large habanero peppers, seeded
  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt, add more to taste

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Chop and seed all of the vegetables. Make sure they are all in pieces around the same size.
  3. Toss all the vegetables in the olive oil and a dash of salt and roast at 400F for 20 minutes or until they are soft and slightly charred.
  4. Let the vegetables cool for 5-10 minutes, then put them in a blender with the apple cider vinegar and maple syrup. Blend until smooth, adding water to thin it out if needed.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and that's it!
