Sandwich Boy Hot Sauce

Deep down, we all are sandwich boys. AKA the boys who need huge sandwiches with even better sauces. And this, is that sauce. It's a roasted red pepper habanero hot sauce that will have you feeling the heat, but not too much of it.

Ingredients

  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • 1/2 large sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 large habanero peppers seeded
  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt add more to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400F.
  • Chop and seed all of the vegetables. Make sure they are all in pieces around the same size.
  • Toss all the vegetables in the olive oil and a dash of salt and roast at 400F for 20 minutes or until they are soft and slightly charred.
  • Let the vegetables cool for 5-10 minutes, then put them in a blender with the apple cider vinegar and maple syrup. Blend until smooth, adding water to thin it out if needed.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, and that's it!
